Aviation Security Instructors Training Course, focuses on acquiring the knowledge, skills, techniques and procedures needed to develop and deliver effective instruction in a classroom setting.
Whether you are new to training or a skilled trainer, this course will help you to identify and address your needs as an instructor by testing and developing your classroom capabilities.
With the help of a wide range of performance objectives, you will be able to learn how to analyses, design and develop different training sessions and how to deliver sessions based on the use of advanced lesson plans and instructional aids. Improving your skills to evaluate and validate will add another significant step forward in this course.
The week includes intensive knowledge-based material supported with skillbased practical experience by preparing and presenting three short lessons. Active learning techniques are spread throughout to elevate enrichment, fun and knowledge absorption.
Since trainers manage time, resources and participants, the course also relates to managerial skills directly related to training. As a security instructor, being up-to-date with civil aviation's latest threats is vital. Develop teaching objectives specific to aviation security by reviewing past and current threats, assessing threat levels, and understanding the function of regulatory regimes in aviation security.
After completion of this course, the students will:
• Identify the role and responsibility of the aviation security instructor.
• Identify aviation security training requirements and the principles of learning.
• Identify the elements necessary for course organization and preparation.
• Demonstrate knowledge and instructional skills by delivering a preprepared presentation.
• Describe the four steps in the evaluation process for assessing trainee’s performance.
• Deliver individual presentation on aviation security subject matter selected.
The course is compliant with ICAO standards and recommended practices and GCAA-CARS.
English, Theoretical.
• Module 2 Basic Aviation Security Course.
• Be currently assigned as an instructor or pending assignment as an instructor upon successful completion of this course.
• Have working knowledge of Annex 17 and the ICAO Aviation Security Manual (Doc 8973 -Restricted).
5 working days – 25 hours
The course covers topics such as, but not limited to:
• Introduction to the course
• Role of the AVSEC instructor
• Principles of learning and instruction
• Course organization
• Preparation of facilities and equipment
• Overview of course development
• Tests
• Presentation of materials
• Assessment of performance
• Familiarization with STP 123 / basic
• Syndicate presentation.
